OWEA Scholarship Program
OWEA offers scholarships to its members and their dependents.
Scholarships up to $500/year towards undergraduate college tuition from an accredited Oklahoma University plus Student WEF membership may be awarded to OWEA members and/or their dependents. Awards are based on available funds that the OWEA Board chooses to allocate to this program. There is no guaranteed number of scholarships. Candidates may apply each year they are in college.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
1. Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited Oklahoma University and must maintain at least a 2.5 grade average (based on a 4.0 scale). If applicant has not completed their first semester of college, they must have obtained a 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale).
2. The student or parent must be a member of the Oklahoma Water Environment Association.
Procedure to Request Scholarship
The student may apply for this scholarship by submitting proof that they meet the eligibility requirements. At a minimum, the following pertinent information must be submitted to the Scholarship Committee Chairman.

Letter from Registrar of Accredited University in Oklahoma showing that the candidate is enrolled full time.

Transcript of cumulative grade point data.

Documentation showing that the student or parent is a member of the Oklahoma Water Environment Association and the longevity of that membership.

Letter from candidate explaining how their career goal relates to the OWEA vision of striving to preserve and enhance the water environment of America's heartland.
The scholarship committee reviews applications, certifies to the Board that candidates meet all eligibility requirements and that candidates career goal is consistent with OWEA’s vision. In case where multiple candidates are certified, the scholarship committee will rank the applicants by summing points from the following three criteria:

The Scholarship Committee shall be appointed by the OWEA president and consist of three current or past Board members.
